As sad as that makes a lot of us, but the numbers are real.

We have more voting Republicans in this state than Democrats.

Trump will more than likely win the state of South Carolina.

Our state has already been and will continue to be trumped.

But what CRT has come to mean is anything that might be discussing how race has affected or affects anyone.

MUSC just stopped doing all transgender health care for kids and adults.

We have a six week abortion ban.

Listen to how our legislature talks on the floor, and you will have to look no further than seeing religion in government.

How many of us can actually take several months off of our job and work from Columbia while being a part time legislator?

52 percent of women are in our state and only two women in our state senate.

An all male state supreme court allowed the six week ban to go into effect before putting a woman on the bench.

There is only one woman on that state supreme court.

We have legit pinpoint gerrymandering.

Not one mention about a redistricting committee that's independent for the 2030 census.

How about unfettered gun access?

So what should we do?

The call is coming from inside our house.

We have to understand that a one party ruled state isn't effective and it certainly isn't American, whether it's South Carolina or California.

Our legislature is beyond lopsided.

Our Supreme Court has only white people on it and only one woman, even though, 52 percent of our state is made up of women.

Our superintendent of schools is a political operative with no background in education.

We have to get our own house in order.

Give money to candidates that can actually win.

There aren't many, but they are out there.

The Jamie Harrison race still lingers in the state of South Carolina's liberal minds.

It seems like sending money to candidates doesn't even do the trick, but the deal is money does make candidates win if it's spent strategically and with purpose and in districts that are actually winnable.

Give money to organizations that are doing the work.

I'm working with them and they are doing the messaging and the data collection and focusing on truly winnable districts.

Our state is not likely to turn blue anytime soon, but it is up to us to lay the groundwork for lefting this ship.
